At a Construction and Building Materials Supplier in Ireland, our partner Oil Care & Services Ltd has conducted an analysis of a 55,000-liter MGO diesel storage tank with a weekly consumption of approximately 35,000 liters. The tank is equipped with a GreenOil WP1-C4-500 unit featuring a patented separator (500 l/h), combined with a GreenOil 2402F filter, specifically suited for this type of application.
The latest oil analysis from March 30, 2026, shows a significant improvement in fuel cleanliness compared to the previous analysis from September 18, 2024. The ISO cleanliness level has been reduced from 22/19/11 to 17/14/10, corresponding to an improvement from NAS 1638 Code 11 to Code 6. This clearly documents a substantial enhancement in fuel quality.
At the same time, the water content is measured at approximately 30 ppm, which is well below the limit value and indicates that the fuel is chemically stable.
An important part of the evaluation has also been the filter performance. Inspection reveals a white membrane, clearly indicating that asphaltenes have been effectively captured in the filter rather than circulating in the fuel. This is critical for preventing sludge formation, filter clogging, and issues within fuel injection systems.
Asphaltenes are naturally occurring heavy hydrocarbon compounds in diesel fuel. Under conditions such as heat, pressure, or aging, they can destabilize, agglomerate, and form sticky sludge. Efficient removal of these components is therefore essential to ensure stable operation and to protect engines and equipment.
